- Biography
I live and work as an artist and printmaker in East Lothian, Scotland. Inspired by my environment, I print, paint and write, sometimes bringing these disciplines together as artist books, with which I've received support from VACMA awards over the years. I have developed ideas through multi-disciplinary projects such a Waterway at the John Muir Birthplace as an exhibition, film and limited edition book and involved exploring the waters that run into Belhaven Bay near to where I live. I have exhibited throughout Scotland and have work in the collections of Aberdeen Hospital Trust and East Lothian Community Hospital.
I am involved in community arts projects with organisations such as the Ridge and North Light Arts. I run printing and environmental workshops. I completed a two-year herbal medicine course with Grass Roots Herbal medicine and like to bring that experience into workshops and ran a project in 2023 with a group of primary 7 children from Dunbar Primary School at Empire Close Apothocary garden in Dunbar, making art with herbal and medicinal, plants and looking at the history of traditional remedies which we brought together as a book.
I have curated exhibitions for the East Lothian Arts Service at the John Gray Centre and was involved in organising the first Open Studios events in East Lothian.
My poetry has been published in the Rialto and Northwords Now and I was shortlisted for the Callum Macdonald memorial award 2011, long listed for the Birdport pize, commended in the Brownsbank poetry competition
