- Biography
My practice is rooted in the human condition. We’re fuelled, moulded, twisted and pulled by connection, love, and loss, as well mental health and inner demons – which I’ve sometimes presented as inhuman, and quite monstrous subjects. Monsters feature in much of my earlier work, always with the theme that those monsters are, in fact, us; humans. More recently I work across a range of mediums including acrylics, oils, mixed media, printmaking, collage and sculpture, along with digitally produced work. I’m drawn to working with recycled materials where possible, bringing new life to old objects and surfaces. Through the subjects I choose to explore, and the materials I work with, my aim is to encourage introspection on the faces we present to others, and the power and significance of the connections we make.
