  • Biography
I’m a painter and freelance creative practitioner based in the Scottish Borders. My painting is based on my experience of the landscape around me and almost always features a solitary motif. Often this is a tree or group of trees. I am interested in the possibilities surrounding the focal point of trees, their presence and sculptural form, and their role in our lives and imaginations especially as a vehicle for pause and reflection. More recently my work has started exploring singular clouds or the outline of the hills that I see everyday. I am interested in the constancy of these familiar images in our very turbulent world.

As a creative practitioner I work with groups of people of all ages and I am a huge advocate of creativity having a positive impact on people’s lives. Both sides of my practice greatly influence and enrich the other and give what I do real purpose and grounding.
