Claire Hope is a painter embarking on a new chapter. Following on from her 16-year career in lighting design and drawn to the expressive power of paint, she explores the influence of colour, light, and texture on emotions.
In her career as a lighting designer, she passionately pursued public engagement and accessibility by using light and artistic interventions to empower communities and revitalise public spaces. Driven by this same purpose, she now seeks to translate the core theme of empathy into paintings that foster human connection through colour, light, and texture. In the future, she plans to expand her focus, exploring the wider role of art and health.
Claire's commitment to inclusivity was captured during the Scottish Parliament Main Hall Enhancement, where collaboration with visually impaired users led to a design that uplifted visitors while revealing for the first time the beauty of the sculpted interior for the visually impaired.
