- Biography
Donna Fleureau is a Scottish artist who graduated from Glasgow School of Art in 1996 with a B.A.(Hons) Fine Art Degree. After spending years travelling and living abroad she returned to Glasgow, Scotland in 2014 where she now works and resides.
Her passion for drawing and painting is life long and the main inspiration for her art work comes from her interest in people and the human condition. Her contemporary portraits are expressive and convey a range of emotive states. They communicate issues that affect us all universally, and at the same time capture a likeness with sensitivity.
Her favourite artist influences include the work of Lucien Freud, Van Gogh, Degas, Whistler and Rembrandt.
Donna’s paintings are in collections internationally. Her work has been selected into several prestigious exhibitions including most recently The Society of Women Artists Annual Exhibition, Mall Galleries, London in 2020, and 2021, The Royal Cambrian Academy Annual Exhibition in Wales in 2022 and The Royal Hibernian Academy Annual Exhibition 2022 and The Royal Scottish Academy Annual Exhibition 2023. As an elected Artist member of The Society of Scottish Artists, The Glasgow Art Club and The Paisley Art Institute she exhibits her work regularly with these esteemed Art Institutes and is represented with The Lemond Gallery, Glasgow.
