Born in Glasgow, I graduated from Duncan of Jordanstone in 1987 with a BA (Hons) in Fine Art.
Using mainly acrylic paint on canvas or paper, my work is primarily a celebration of colour. I enjoy trying to create order out of chaos, and puzzle solving using colour, shape, layering and texture.
Sometimes my paintings are planned around a theme, wherein symbols, colours etc are used to evoke memories, feelings, or to distil the essence of people, places, music or experiences. At other times, pieces grow organically, from purely abstract beginnings.
I live and work in Glasgow.
