Helen Feilden

I am an artist based in Glasgow, Scotland. I love to paint landscapes, still life, and occasionally scribbly abstract work inspired by seasons, sunlight, colour and the living world. I am inspired by noticing the seasonal changes happening in the natural world around us and am influenced by how that makes me feel. I love feeling connected to the natural world and its always changing beauty. I create expressive, celebratory paintings that try to capture the moments where I want to say “ooh, look!” and show someone how good it is. The moments when the everyday is transformed somehow into a glimpse of awesome wonder. I make art because it helps me to appreciate, connect with and express those moments. I get to carry them with me for longer by noticing them, savouring them through my practice, then sharing them with others via my paintings.
