Jane

Gray

Jane Gray is an award-winning Scottish designer and illustrator who beautifully bridges the gap between fine-art precision and contemporary craft. A First-Class Honours graduate in Textile Design from Heriot-Watt University and recipient of the prestigious Dr Oliver Medal for design excellence, Jane’s technical background deeply informs the curated, tactile nature of her work. Operating from her studio, Jane’s creative process begins entirely with traditional pen and ink. Her signature style is defined by intricate, fine-line detail and a sophisticated, contemporary palette. Drawing deep inspiration from the rugged landscapes of the Scottish Borders, her latest collections celebrate the natural world, focusing closely on detailed studies of fauna and local botanical elements. Through her commercial brand, Jane Gray Design, she masterfully translates these hand-drawn illustrations into luxury homeware, fine-art prints, and stationery. Every piece is proudly designed in Scotland and manufactured within the UK using 100% natural fibres and FSC-certified papers. By marrying meticulous artwork with functional, eco-conscious product design, Jane’s practice brings an intentional sense of calm, quality, and heritage into the everyday modern home.
