Laura Finlayson is a Kintyre and Edinburgh based landscape painter. Her intention, through the use of oil paint, is to express the vastness of scale found in the skies and shores of Scotland. Laura often draws heavily on light, mood and gestural expression to evoke feelings of being present and in some cases, sensing the harsh power of the elements.
2022-2024 I have just completed 2 Years on the Painting Course at LSA. It has been focussed and fulfilling.
The time during my 2nd Year has been invaluable for the development of my work. It has enabled me to build upon the knowledge and learning from Year 1, in particular, exploring colour, qualities of paint and scale.
I am looking forward to moving to studio and plein air practice as a full time Painter.
