My work is mainly inspired by the neglected landscape. Construction sites, interiors of buildings and other mundane aspects of city life provide me with rich material. I work on several pieces concurrently, starting with pencil sketches on location, and the challenge for me in my studio is to simplify the shapes I see, constructing and destroying as part of the process. My work is quite intuitive and I am often drawn to vibrant colours which represent how I feel about the subject rather than what I actually see.
