Line is a Danish artist based in North Berwick. Her main body of work are one-off wall pieces and sculptural objects created by mixing skills, materials and techniques from a wide range of art forms such as architecture, design, mosaic, ceramic and glass.
Most work is abstract to semi-abstract and based on Line’s love of form, materials, textures, colours and good craftsmanship.
The inspiration is often the materials themselves and how they are best used and presented but the natural world and expression of emotions do also influence her work.
Line has a genuine compulsion to create and aim to create work which reflects her style and personality while also having the quality and presence to be of long-lasting interest and value.
Line is Danish but have lived and worked in the UK since 2001. Her background is a MSc in landscape architecture (Copenhagen) but it was her specialty in golf course architecture and design which brought her first to England and in 2003 to Scotland when she was offered a Lecture and Course Coordinator job at the College of Art in Edinburgh. Following this she ran her own golf design business until 2017 when she turned full-time artist.
The individuality and quality of Line’s work has given her access to exhibit and sell work both within the UK and internationally. She has exhibited with Craft Scotland in Edinburgh, London and Chicago (US) and with British Association for Modern Mosaic in Chartres (France). She has shown work as invited artist a Tweeddale Museum in Peebles and at the Pittenweem Arts Festival, Scotland.
Due to the nature of Line’s work, she has a limited output of pieces and therefore only exhibit/sell her work on few occasions each year.
