Lisa's work is concerned with the land. When she says the land, it is the features whether natural or man-made that are of particular interest. Lisa likes to pare down an object to a few simple lines or shapes, so that they become symbols used to represent thematic concepts and ideas.
Lisa is a graduate of Duncan of Jordenstone College of Art and Design, Dundee and she also trained in horticulture at the Royal Botanic Gardens Edinburgh.
Lisa has exhibited work here and abroad including China, Japan, USA and Ireland. She has received a number of awards to develop her work, the latest being the Aberdeen Visual Artist & Markers Award in 2017.
In 2020 and 2021, Lisa was awarded the Dr Donnie Ross Prize for Innovation & Creativity in Watercolour, also in 2021 she was awarded a Prize for Excellence, at the Aberdeen Artists Society Summer Exhibitions.
Since 2015 Lisa has been a freelance art tutor for Life with Art working with adults with educational difficulties. She has also devised and run workshops in schools and community settings.
