Olive Pearson

  • Work
  • Biography
Olive's practice is driven by her fascination with repetitive pattern, geometry and colour.
Her work reflects her expression of these influences through clever use of colour with results that can play with visual perceptions. Most recent work includes her interpretation of sudoku patterns and colour studies that explore and celebrate relationships between colours. Fine threads and yarns convey the story of each piece in a detailed, meditative, repetitive process. Work ranges in scale from small colour studies to larger wall hangings, all with great attention to detail. Olive works mainly in textile art but also draws in pencil and ink.

(One upside to the cancellations and closures caused by the Covid pandemic was that Olive had the time and space to develop the textile art side of her practice. Since 2015, her main focus was the establishment and development of her knitted textiles brand where she draws on an eclectic mix of sources for inspiration to create unique geometric patterns.)
