As a Scottish oil painter, my work is a deep exploration of the intricate dance between light and the natural environment. My background in the corporate lighting industry has given me a technical understanding of light, but my true passion lies in capturing its more unpredictable, ephemeral qualities in nature.

Growing up in the Far East, I was captivated by the diverse expressions of light across different cultures and landscapes. These early experiences instilled in me a lifelong fascination with the way light shapes our perception of the world. Now residing in Scotland, I am continually inspired by the dramatic and ever-changing light of its landscapes. From the soft glow of misty mornings to the bold contrasts of stormy skies, the Scottish light provides a rich tapestry for my artistic endeavors.

Oil paint allows me to translate these observations into a visual language, with its ability to convey depth, texture, and luminosity. My paintings aim to capture the transient beauty of natural light, inviting viewers to experience the emotional and atmospheric shifts that occur throughout the day and across the seasons.
