Miranda Macdonald is a sculptor specialising in animal sculpture and handbuilt clay vessels. Her work also includes bas relief wall sculpture, raku animals and vessels and organic vases inspired by plants. Originally graduating in Landscape Architecture in London after a foundation year at art school. She also studied landscape architecture in Copenhagen and Paris on exchange programmes. Later working as a Landscape Architect and a lecturer in architecture school in Scotland. Turning full circle, she has returned to art, having kept her hand in with figurative pencil drawing and portraiture. The natural world, archaeology, travel, poetry and fine art inform her work. She also enjoys identifying plants, bumblebees and butterflies.
