Sadie Worrall

As a designer I love using colour to express myself in my fabrics. I like finding new colour combinations that create interesting and pleasing emotions in the user.
Texture plays a huge role in my designs as well. In my honours project I experimented with a wide variety of materials to create textures appealing to those with trichotillomania. Due to this project, as well as my internship at Birkhill House, texture and materials have been an important part of my textiles journey.
While my work has mostly been contemporary and experimental, I have a deep appreciation of more traditional woven designs. I would love to explore them further in the future, but due to the resources available at University I wanted to use the more modern technology readily available while I could. However, by using George Wood Dobby Looms I have a connection to older woven practices and love older equipment.
Otherwise, I have a great love/passion for textiles and am enthusiastic about every project I take on. I want to keep innovating and finding new ways to make a positive impact with my textile designs.
